Description
Job Purpose:
The Commodity Manager manages supplier relationships and develops sourcing strategies for a range of commodities (spend categories). She/He has the lead over sourcing process for defined categories. For that he/she will manage assigned staff directly (Purchaser) or in matrix structure (Technical resources).
Accountabilities and Responsibilities :
Manage costs curve with business and suppliers
Drive, identify and implement cost saving opportunities, contributing to year over year cost saving targets
Take sourcing responsibility over a range of categories and is responsible for one or more categories with Global Lead responsibility.
Develop in-depth commodity and market expertise and strategies. Ensure definitions and realization of executions plans
Qualifications:
Master degree or equivalent thru experience
Professional certification is an asset
Experienced. Sourcing and procurement experience of min 7 years.
Strong communication skills; ability to drive results while maintaining smooth, constructive interactions on all levels.
Leadership capabilities over cross-functional teams, strong managerial skills.
Strong ability to analyze financial and technical data.
Excellent presentation skills, Critical mindset with feedback culture
Familiarity with drawings, specifications, materials and manufacturing processes.
Solid negotiation skills & experience
Experience in Indirect Materials & Services Sourcing is preferred.
Experience required in an industrial and multisite environment.
Experienced in working across functions & geographies to achieve goals
Language skills: English, Dutch and French
